Adopt a Gate
To prevent the risk of replacing the secular doors in the historic center of Bistrița with laminated wood doors without heritage value, we initiated a project to restore the 18th - 19th century gates - by accredited specialists and with the financial participation of the community.
This project is carried out by accredited restoration specialists with extensive experience in cultural heritage conservation work. These experts will not only assess the current condition of the doors, but will also apply traditional restoration techniques, thus maintaining their aesthetic and historical integrity.
It is also essential to emphasize that this effort is not carried out in isolation; it benefits from the financial participation of the local community, which plays a crucial role in supporting initiatives aimed at protecting and valorizing cultural heritage. By involving the community, we aim to create a sense of collective responsibility and appreciation for the history and culture of the city of Bistrița, ensuring that future generations will be able to benefit from the beauty and significance of these historic gates.
This project is not only a restoration action, but also an opportunity for education and awareness of the importance of heritage conservation, thus promoting a dialogue between past and present, between tradition and innovation.
